Check out the new exciting Insta-Snow Lab! Laura and her Moka guest are mixing up a batch of snow right now. Check out the short video.

Check out the pit of doom as scientists at Morrison Labs run across and jump across a liquid.

Steve Science attempts to be the first human do master the daring and creative five pennies on the forehead challenge. Lucky for you we had the cameras rolling and there is amazing footage of Steve Science in action. Special thanks to Kyle, his lab assistant.

Congratulations to the following students for using critical thinking and good problem solving strategies. Many of these students tested and modified there cars numerous times before achieving success.

Check out some new pictures and a short movei of this lab.

Recently scientists at Morrison Labs did some research involving dry ice or frozen carbon dioxide gas. Check out the experiments and more pictures.

Check out Allison's Cool Flipbook of the Mercury Transit!

You are on vacation and back everything neatly for the return trip home...... but wait, there is a serious volume problem!

AAAAAAHHHH!

Will density be the answer????

Recently scientists at morrison labs found a way to turn metal into plastic. Our scientists used a top secret bean to do the amazing transformation.

All you do is place the metal ball on top of the magic beans and then shake them.

In just a few seconds the metal ball sinks and a plastic ball appears.

OOoooo, AHHH!

Voila'! The metal has been tranformed into plastic!

This distinctly neato discovery is sure to bring us the Nobel Prize for chemistry for the scientists at Morrison Labs.

Scientists at Morrison Labs have been studying the states of matter. This is a fun, interactive, online challenge, has you sort different states of matter in four categories.

Guide the falling objects into the right "States of Matter" bin... solid, liquid, gas or plasma. Careful: the longer you play, the faster it gets!

It's a great way to learn examples for each state.

I have a wireless keyboard that I give to a student and the whole class yells out where the example should go. The class is required to fill in an example chart so they end up with a nice list of examples for each state in their science journal.

Congratulations to Brooke! Her persistence and excellent understanding of the states of matter helped her to achieve the highest score in all my classes. She has plasma fast reflexes and reaction time!

Check out the awesome scores of some of my scientists.

Recently the scientists at Morrison Labs investigated the air pressure on Earth. They found that 14.7 PSI can be very crushing! Check out some more pictures at the link below

Sanoe Lake, surfer, author, Billabong model, and star of the movie Blue Crush recently visited and shared some sun safety tips.

Find out what it feels like to be crushed by the Earth's atmospheric pressure or 14.7 PSI!

Justin recently reached the wall in our annual air car engineering challenge. He was only one of 170 students to reach the 19 meter wall. Congratulations to an impressive air car. Check out the air car project and find out how students did.

An unexpected visitor!

Density Demonstration

Take a Virtial Quiktime Tour of Morrison Labs Students in action!

BW Test Tube Blackbelt

Scientists at morrison labs recently found the liquids of different densities can be layered. They were challenged to find the correct order of densities to layer six different colors to make a rainbow straw. Several students attained the amazing status of becoming a test tube blackbelts, a rainbow straw masters, a rainbow straw grand masters, and finally a rainbow straw mega-grand- masters! Woo Hoo!

TC works on becoming a rainbow straw master.

SA and AP have what it takes to become test tube black belts! Yahooo! ->

Visit the 2002 rainbow straw gallery!

Also visit the rainbow straw page for more density excitment!

Solar Bag Flying High At Morrison Labs

With the help of a local Rotary Mini-grant we will be able to do an ultraviolet or UV bead lab this year. Get your sunscreen lotions, beach towels, hats, and sunglasses ready. Your challenge will be to compare the SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of a leading sunscreen and learn about skin cancer and sun safety. Two years of planing have gone into this lab.

Students at Morrison labs are participating in the SunWise UV safety program. Check out the latest and remember:

"It's not fun to be well done!" (Student Slogan 1999)

Hilary and Jennifer take a close look at their UV experiment. Notice how these sunsafe students are useing the shade from the building to protect their skin from too much UV exposure. Check out additional pictures of the sunscreen lab taken 5-12-2000.

There are planty of extra credit opportunities on this page. Woo Hoo!

The theme of Women's History Month this year is "An Extraordinary Century for Women---- Now, Imagine the Future"

The sites listed below are but a small number of web sites that celebrate the accomplishments of women and encourage and educate young girls and boys about the exciting careers and opportunities available in the new millennium. Recently the Native American Sacagawea was honored for her contribution guiding explorers Lewis and Clark across the northwestern United States, on the new, gold, dollar coin. Find out about her and many other fascinating women in our history.

We have recent photos of students being crushed by the Earth's Atmosphere at Morrison Labs. Check out this page and be careful you might learn more than you want about atmospheric pressure.

Recently students at Morrison Labs found what their backpacks weighed on different planets. They also determined what percent of their body weight their backpack was. See how they did this out of this world investigation.
